Topsail Island Baby Shower

Well I know this post is long over due. Sorry everyone between working all day and always being tired I never really am in the mood to blog nor take pictures.

Tuesday night a few of my Mom's friends hostessed a baby shower for me at the beach. They did such a great job they used pink and green for everything and I loved it. It was a dessert shower, greatest idea ever. Three cakes one was chocolate, one strawberry and one lemon. They made me the cutest diaper cake, I don't want to take it apart.
I got such great gifts. Opening these gift and seeing how small these clothes are was kinda scary to imagine how small Harper is going to be. I was really excited about all the gifts because before this shower she was going to be a naked baby without anything. I have been so busy this summer with my new job that I haven't had a chance to buy her anything.

I can't wait to hang her new clothes in her closet and put away all her new fun toys. Harper is going to love everything.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning John and I found out that we are going to have a little girl. We are so excited. The doctor said everything looked great. I almost cried when I looked at John and he said to me " one day I am going to walk that little pumpkin down the aisle". John and I have already decided her name:

HARPER KATHRYN LONGLEY

As many of you already know I have always wanted to name a girl Harper. Kathryn was my grandmothers name who I was very close with. Now knowing we are having a little girl makes this pregnancy so much more of a reality. I wish I had a picture to attach to this post. But just picture this John and Jackie with smiles ear to ear.

John's WILD Weekend

John decided that he really needed a guys weekend. So he and a few boys decided to rent and RV and pack up my entire house and head to Charlotte. I went to Topsail for what I thought would be a relaxing weekend. Turns out I power washed decks and weeded all weekend. Any chance I got to talk to John he wasn't making a sense or I couldn't even hear him, so I decided I would wait till he returned to tell me all. When he got back he sat me downt to show me his pictures. Before we started he turns to me and says "Jackie I don't want you to be mad but I am kissing a girl in one of these pics." Probably not the best thing to say to a pregnant wife. I laughed so hard when I saw the picture. Probably the prettiest cut out I have ever seen. I wish I was there to see my long lost buddy MONS!

Mr.& Mrs. Warfield

John and I went to Lake Gatson to Rich and Britton's wedding, two of our great friends from ECU. It was absolutly beautiful. The reception was at her parents home right on the lake with a huge white tent. John and I especially loved the fact that they had the band Spare Change, it brought back many fond memories of our wedding day dancing on stage with this band.
We had a lot of fun seeing a ton of old friends. There are defentlty some negatives for being pregnant at a wedding, the first would be the fact that you can't drink, which really affects my dancing ability. On the plus side I didn't miss a thing, I saw the first dance, father daughter, son mother, cake cutting, toast. I decided since John had taken in a few calories consuming beers that night and I wasn't it was ok for me to have two pieces of cake, it was yummy.

Surprise We are having a BABY!!

I have decided to start a blog for two main reasons. The first would be to keep all my friends and family updated on the all that is going on in our lives. The second reason is because when you get pregnant your social life kinda dissapears and you don't have much else to do on the weekends.
As many of you know John and I discovered that this Thanksgiving I am going to be popping out a turkey. We are so excited and nervous about the big changes that are occuring in our lives.
